The Steel Cities Region Autocross Test and Tune Information

Test and tune information

All test and tunes are held on the Vehicle Dynamics Area at the new BeaveRun Motorsports Complex near Koppel, Pennsylvania, only 40 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. The Vehicle Dynamics Area (VDA) is an excellent site for test and tunes with a little over six acres of asphalt, much friendlier to your autocross tires than concrete sites.

Our test and tunes are meant for getting seat time and making adjustments to you car to make it handle as desired. During morning activities we have a 100ft diameter skid pad available for steady-state tuning, in addition we have a small course for adjusting transitional elements of the car. This course typically features a slalom, offsets, a steady state sweeper and a decreasing radius sweeper. This course is run in 2 directions, clockwise and counterclockwise, the intervals of switching directions is every half hour for 2 hours. In the afternoon after lunch we convert the entire VDA (removing the skidpad activities) into a full size autocross course. This will run for 4 one hour segments and then the test and tune is over.

You’ll have one week from time of registration to send in full payment to confirm your spot. In your email, please give us your full name, phone number, email address (s), vehicle, class vehicle would compete in and car number that you will be attending the school with.

Test and Tunes sell out quickly. Don't wait to register!

Worker information

Worker assignments are first come, first served, so it pays to be early to the event to be able to pick when you will work. It is asked that you sign up for 2 non-consecutive work sessions. There are typically 10 people working during every hour, thus only 20 cars can be taking runs at a time, maximizing your test and tune time.
